Galatea IV

Corona Del Mar, CA

This Contemporary residence is defined by simple elegance. An antique stone wall brings unexpected charm to the front elevation, while modern windows penetrate through the walls to suggest a more modern architectural language. The layout of the home is centered on the pool that waterfalls into the sunken courtyard at the basement level. Dramatic roof lines blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors and draw the eye out to the beautiful harbor views beyond. In the design of the home, we maximized the outdoor living space by terracing into the slope and daylighting the basement. The patio space at the courtyard connects the living spaces with the courtyard and master suite.
