Designed as a summer haven for a Boston-based family, this lakeside retreat reimagines the architectural lineage of the Eastern Seaboard through a contemporary lens. The home sits along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, where clapboard siding, steep gables, decorative paneling, stone veneer, and natural slate roofing root it in local tradition, while metal accents add modernity and expansive openings introduce lightness and ease. Its scale is purposeful: generous enough to welcome extended family and friends, yet composed in a way that feels warm rather than imposing. Wraparound porches orchestrate the rhythm of life here: morning coffee watching the lake shimmer; afternoon swims followed by games and laughter drifting into evening, each moment fostering a comfortable connection to the outdoors.

The interior is organized around gathering as much as retreat.
