Davis Island

The Goal: To design a family home set in its landscape, eschewing local conventions that typically raise homes for flooding. Instead, we’ve stepped the landscape up to meet the house and down to meet the water.

The Details: This pavilion-style modern ranch is organized into distinct wings and structures, each thoughtfully oriented to capture light and views of boats and yachts cruising by.

The Materials: Smooth-coat stucco and natural stone form the primary surfaces, complemented by stained-grade wood and a standing-seam metal roof, creating a palette that balances warmth, texture and Southwest Florida modernity.
