Galatea I
Corona Del Mar, CAThis project was designed as a spec home that maximized the entire property and views of the ocean. The layout includes plenty of indoor environments to take advantage of the comfortable climate here in Southern California. The lot has strict height conditions allowing only one story structures so the basement was needed to maximize the program. The basement created a unique opportunity to create a sunken courtyard with water features, a green wall, and added natural light.
When entering, one immediately glimpses views over a fountain, straight out onto the back deck on to the ocean.
A main design objective was to create a powerful impression when one enters and confronts the bold courtyard.
