Located atop Headland Rock, the hotel anchors to the hillside to maximize potential views from every guest suite and the hotel grounds consisting of, but not limited to: lobby, retail, conference, restaurant, pool bar, pools, fitness, spa, garden terraces, and rooftop bar. Modern architectural elements such as the cantilevered pool (with pool bar below), floor-to-ceiling glass, and dramatic roof lines are softened by locally-sourced materials and multiple levels of green roofs.
The Strand Hotel at Dana Point could be the last hotel developed on open coastal land in California, so it has an extremely valuable and unique setting, which demands dramatic architectural design, innovative programming, sensitive siting and socially responsible building techniques.
